Z loňského ročníku víme, jak je důležité mít opravdu dobrou porotu. Na porotcích celá soutěž stojí a my bychom Vám rádi představili letošní členy poroty. Zvolili jsme většinu certifikovaných porotců, aby výsledky byly opravdu objektivní. Soutěžící tedy budou hodnotit protoci, kteří hodnotí i soutěžící na mistrovství světa.

Marc-Pierre Dietrich

About Marc: Likes cooking, food, film and photography, reading, coaching rugby, red wine, special rums,running a business, friends and friendships and most importantly, hanging out with 8 year old son, Max. 20 years down the coffee road, (approx halfway) working backward from the sharp end…soon hope to get into roasting and visiting growers, but first, concentrating on cupping coffee and judging Barista competitons for the last 5-6 years.WBC certified, have been training judges teams from UK, France, Lithuania, Estonia, Greece, …with Czech Republic, Irish Republic, Spain and Belgium to follow soon.Have also been privileged to judge the World Latte Art and World Coffee in Good Spirits Finals and hope to be judging again at this years WBC finals in London. Conclusion…? The world is full of truly inspiring, beautiful people…and we all enjoy superlative coffees!

Tasos Delichristos

About Tasos: My love and passion for coffee along with the continuous quest for knowledge which was never nothing less than specialty, has lead me to achievements that I am very proud of.. So far, I have won one World Coffee in Good Spirits championship, one Hellenic Barista championship, one Coffee in Good Spirits championship and one Hellenic Ibrik Championship.

Since the April of 2007 to now, I work in Barista Academy as the Director of Training Courses and Workshops. I am as you can understand more involved in the training field of our market. I have trained so far more than 400 baristas working all over Greece, as Barista Academy does seminars and workshops every month in two different cities. I am also in the organizing team of our National Coordinator, Mira Gerantonaki, in the last two years and I am helping in the organization of the Hellenic Barista Championships.

John Stubberud

John Stubberud is norwegian, and has been working within Speciality Coffee since 1996 in Oslo, currently running ‘Kaffee-Alchemie’, a coffee house in Salzburg, Austria. Participated in the very first norwegian barista championship back in 1998, and has been judging in the national finals the last four years. John is a Certified Cup of Excellence Judge, having taken part in the competitions in Honduras 2008, Bolivia 2009, El Salvador 2010 and Nicaragua in April this year. John confesses a passion for outstanding single origin (micro lots!) coffees; he loves cuptasting and is proud to support the Cup of Excellence Program, bringing him face to face with enthusiastic farmers. Beside the focus on coffee alone, John loves the barista profession -(still, more than 20 years after he started working on an espresso machine), believing a good coffee house has its heart not in the latte art, but in the barista: “the barista championships focuses on good techniques and a polite performance, just what an everyday barista should be proud of displaying with every espresso and cappuccino being served”. John loves Café traditions and coffee houses, but he is also a passionate music and film lover, enjoys travelling (islands!), languages, forests, rare plants, good food and meeting new people, especially the network of coffee enthusiasts!

Nora Šmahelová

O Noře: Jako barista začala pracovat v roce 1999, aby si přivydělala při studiu. Narodila se v Praze, ale dlouhodobě žije v Berlíně. V roce 2002 se stala vítězkou německé soutěže a od roku 2003 pravidelně hodnotí soutěžící z druhé strany, v porotě. Pracovala u Einstein coffee shop, dále také různě v malých kavárnách a naposledy do března 2011 v kavárně Double eye. V únoru prošla WBC certifikací a je nyní certified judge 2011/12. Pracuje také jako designér.

Brzy si bude otevírat svou vlastní kavárnu.

Charles Fleer

Charles je zakladatelem a prezidentem jedné kávové společnosti. Jeho činosti zahrnují řízení společnosti a zaměstnanců, společně s nákupem a kontrolou kvality kávy. Charles pochází z New Yorku a svůj volný čas nejraději tráví cestováním po světě a hledáním těch nejlepších káv.

Jörg Krahl
About Jörg: I started working for MAHLKÖNIG ten years ago as a working student and for the last two years I am the Marketing Manager of the company. During that time till now my passion for coffee, especially quality coffee was growing extremely. 2005 I spent about one year in Shanghai for MAHLKÖNIG to introduce quality coffee and everything around that topic, into this kind of market. There I was first time judging as a sensory judge in the Chinese Barista Championship. The more time I spent with people in the coffee scene, the more I see the urge to be better in terms of quality and education worldwide. I think the last two years had the biggest impact on me in the coffee business. 2010 coffee got even bigger in my private life and in 2011 I had the opportunity to judge together with Michael Phillips as a sensory judge in the African Barista Challange and visit the Coffee Education Programm at our SONGWA Estates Coffee Farm in Tanzania.
